This technical document was designed to simplify the invoicing process for field technicians at ADW Plumbing using ServiceBox Field Service Management (FSM) software. It offers a structured, easy-to-follow guide for technicians, ensuring consistent and accurate billing practices while reducing potential errors.
Key Features of the Document:
Step-by-Step Instructions – The guide walks technicians through each phase of the invoicing process, from accessing the work order and collecting customer signatures to finalizing and submitting the invoice.
Emphasis on Signature Collection – Signature collection is highlighted as a critical step to protect both the technician and the company in case of disputed service calls, ensuring smooth billing and payment collection.
Detailed Invoice Creation Process – Technicians learn how to select appropriate service codes, add labor and materials, and ensure accuracy in pricing and descriptions.
Emailing and Submission Guidance – The final steps focus on how to send the invoice to the office and update its status to "Submitted" for record-keeping and review.
Design Choices:
The document was intentionally designed with a colored background to create a high contrast with the white phone screen images, ensuring that the demonstrations are clearly visible to the technicians. This design approach prioritizes readability and usability, helping technicians quickly identify critical steps in the process. Given the importance of clarity in field settings, the decision to use a colored background outweighed considerations of print cost, which was not a limiting factor for this project.
